The oral health affects our entire health, so we need to take a proper care of the oral cavity and our teeth.
Poor dental hygiene, inadequate brushing, and irregular visits to the dentist lead to accumulation of bacteria in the oral cavity, which cause plaque and tartar, as well as bad breath, gingivitis, stained and yellow teeth.
Tartar, also known as calculus, is hardened plaque on the teeth, and underneath the gum line, where it can lead to irritations. It creates more surface area for plaque to grow and lead to more serious conditions, like cavities and gum disease.
Gingivitis is an inflammation of the gums, or gingival, most commonly due to the accumulation of bacteria and plaque on the teeth. It is a common, non-destructive type of periodontal disease, but if left untreated, it can cause periodontitis and loss of teeth. Its most common signs include redness and puffiness of the gums, that start to bleed easily.
Moreover, we will today suggest a natural way to prevent gingivitis, remove tartar, and whiten your teeth!
Here is how to prepare it:
- ½ a cup of hydrogen peroxide
- 1 tablespoon of baking soda
- ½ a teaspoon of salt
- Antiseptic mouthwash
You will also need:
- A toothbrush
- Dental floss
- ½ a cup of warm water
- ½ a cup of cold water
In a cup, mix the baking soda and salt, and soak the toothbrush in some warm water. Then, take a bit of the mixture of baking soda and salt with it, and start brushing the teeth gently, for 5 minutes. Then, spit it.
Rinse the mouth with a mixture of warm water and hydrogen peroxide, spit again and rinse with cold water. Next, eliminate the plaque accumulated on the teeth with the dental flow, and rinse the mouth with the antiseptic mouthwash.
Repeat this procedure every night, and the improvements will be visible very soon! Additionally, make sure you brush the teeth twice a day, using a high-quality toothbrush, and regularly use a dental floss.
